I'm feeling very blessed and thankful today. The reason might seem a little silly to some, but that just serves to remind me that God cares about the little things that are important to each of us individually.
My husband is visually impaired. One of the effects of this is that he can not drive at night. He's also not very good at construction projects
Yesterday Pastor announced that the next two weeks would be work nights at the church, preparing for an expansion. I knew that Jim would not be able to attend, unless he was able to get a ride home, and honestly, I felt a little frustrated for him.
Well, God worked it out that he could do his part today, during the day. At the end of service, Pastor made an additional announcement: Any men that were not working on Monday could come to the church during the day and get started tearing things apart. AND, he would treat them all to lunch. Well, Jim has today off for the holiday, and he can certainly help tear things down, so he said he would go.
It felt so good to see my husband walk out the door, whistling, with his toolbox in hand, going to the church to help, "Because you don't need good eyesight to tear things apart!". I just felt so thankful that God had done a little thing like work out a way for my husband to feel like he did his part in the expansion project.
