Rewards Points on Credit Cards

Here's another tip from my mom to keep in mind if you do use your credit card for something:

FUN SAVINGS FLASH: I use an American Express card only to pay Jordan's school expenses. I'd never paid attention to the reward points being accumulated. Today I got an email from Amex stating I had 5750 points and a list of everything I could use them for. So I got two $25 Barnes & Noble gift cards for FREE by redeeming 5000 points. Bottom line: if you use credit cards, check to see if there is a reward program tied to it. I had never noticed mine until now.
