Kitchen Tip Tuesday: From Stale Bread to French Toast

I stumbled upon this tip when contemplating the last pieces of a loaf of bread that had gone stale. (Isn't that usually how we come up with great ideas: wondering "now what?")
Take the stale bread and place it into a freezer bag. Label the freezer bag "French Toast Bread."
Place into freezer.
Add slices whenever you have more stale bread. When you have a sufficient amount of slices, make french toast. Yum!!

You can also make a bread omelet (got this from Less with More cookbook). Add some milk to cubed bread to let soak. Then add scrambled eggs to the bread/milk mixture, along with some cheese. Fry like you would an omelet.

Excellent idea! I'm always throwing out old bread! And this is a lot better than telling my husband he needs to eat more sandwiches!
